When should I send my Email Campaigns ?
The majority of studies will say Tuesday is the best day to send your email campaigns. If you send 2 emails a week, choose Thursday as your second day. If you need a third day, Wednesday was mentioned a lot even, but it remains your last choice. Why? Because people are more likely to check their emails on Tuesdays since Mondays are much too busy at work and they’ll check them on Thursdays before the weekend.
The best times would be 10am, 8pm, 2pm or 6am. Why? Because people will look at their emails before they get out of bed, when they get to work, after lunch or mid-day if they are looking for a distraction... They'll also check their emails before they go to sleep at night.
Although these are the best moments for you to send your email campaigns, you have to know your audience. For example, if you are in the entertainment industry, you might want to send on Fridays. You might want to first test on mid-day, mid week to see how you perform, you’ll need to do more tests to see your optimal times. Testing is key to knowing your audience, the type of content that works and when does it work.
How often should I write to your clients?
There is no easy answer to this question. A lot of studies exist on this subject, but no one has the same answer. It really relies on what your company does.
B2C, for example, will send weekly or bi weekly newsletters to their lists since consumers generally expect more promotions from companies, while B2B companies will send less often, from one to 5 email campaigns per month.
This being said, subscribers won’t mind receiving your campaigns more often if you make your content interesting. Studies show that your conversion rate might increase if you reduce the number of email campaigns you send, for example if you switch from daily to weekly.
Other recommendations: Companies that email daily rely on selling information, companies who email 1-3 times a week have busy audiences and companies who email sporadically generally only share something of value. It’s your job to decide which model of business you are and what communication strategy you want to use.
Our tip: Try different times on different days and different frequencies with your email campaigns. See what works and what gives you the best results. Once you find your best times and frequencies, set a schedule and be consistent, your contacts want you to be consistent with your.
All in all, keep testing and keep doing research, things might change! We hope this was helpful if you felt lost in this email marketing world!
