Set up an Automated Import
Things to Know
You need to have an SFTP (Secure File Transfer Protocol) application in your computer to set up an automated import (e.g., FileZilla, Cyberduck or WinSCP).
- You have to create a spreadsheet file in a CSV format with all the appropriate fields you require to have in your list.
There are two components to set up: eFlyerMaker automated import and the SFTP connection. Keep an eye on the blue instruction box as you will need to copy your SFTP login credentials for later use.
eFlyerMaker Automated Import
You will need to tell eFlyerMaker what kind of data it is going to fetch and when.
Go to List Management in the List menu to access your lists and click of the list you wish to set up and click Set up an automated import.
Rename your CSV file to the same name provided at line 11 in the blue instruction box.
Your Username and Password are provided at line 12. You must click here to reveal your SFTP password. Make sure to save these information somewhere you can remember.
Upload the CSV file into eFlyerMaker and match the Source with its appropriate Destination.
- Select a publication to subscribe your recipients.
Set the import schedule frequency. You can configure eFlyerMaker to fetch once on a specific date and time or to import daily at a specific time.
Once configured, click I agree and Save and Continue.
Once eFlyerMaker's automated import feature is set up, you must now configure the SFTP to allow eFlyerMaker to fetch new data.
- Open the SFTP application of your choice.
Enter sftp.eflyermaker.com in Host.
Enter your saved Username provided at line 12 of the blue instruction box.
Enter your saved Password provided at line 12 of the blue instruction box. Be advised that the password is not the same as your login credentials.
Enter the Port connection number provided at line 10 from the blue instruction box.
- Connect to the server.
- Once connected, drop your CSV file on the server.
When you have new contacts to add into your list, simply update the CSV file on the server. eFlyerMaker will periodically fetch new data and will update your current list.
Once eFlyerMaker's automated import and the SFTP connection are configured, a schedule window will appear in the list properties. You can cancel the schedule anytime but you cannot edit it; you will have to set up a new automated import.
You will receive an email status update when eFlyerMaker schedules an import. eFlyerMaker will let you know if your automated import is successful or not. If the latter is the case, here are some examples of unsuccessful imports:
- The file is not present in the SFTP folder
- A mandatory field has no data
- A field name is missing

Export to CSV
Click Export to CSV to export your list to a CSV file. Select All data to export the entire database or select Search results to only export the search result.
You can rename a field name and its description by clicking of the field you wish to modify.
You can also add new fields into your list to expand your database. However, to fill in your new fields with new data, you will have to reimport your CSV file with the updated data or enter them manually.
To delete a field, click of the field you wish to delete in the Action column. Be advised that deleting a field will remove all existing data. A warning message will appear to inform you that this action is irreversible once you click OK.
Deleting a field while there is a scheduled import will cancel the automated import option. A message will appear to inform you and you will have to set up a new automated import.
Adding new fields while there is a scheduled import does not affect the automated import option.
Once you have done your modifications, click Save and Continue to return to the List Management page.
